What can I say about the Kalanggaman Island? Well it’s truly a paradise. So far I have to say the Kalanggaman Island has one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen in my life. I got there by boat from Malapascua Island, we started in the morning, but most people travel to Palompon, Leyte and from there with a regular pump boat within 1 hour or by speedboat, which takes about 40 min.
Was soll ich über Kalanggaman Island sagen? Also es ist wirklich ein Paradies. Kalanggaman Island hat einen der schönsten Strände, die ich je in meinem Leben gesehen habe. Ich kam mit dem Boot von Malapascua Island, wir starteten am Morgen, aber die meisten Leute reisen nach Palompon, Leyte und von dort aus mit einem normalen Fischerboot innerhalb von 1 Stunde oder mit dem Schnellboot, was etwa 40 min dauert, nach Kalanggaman Island.
I can definitely recommend to stay there a little bit longer. If I would have known that this place is that beautiful, I wouldn’t have done a one day trip, which of course does not mean you can stay there the whole day….
Ich kann definitiv empfehlen, länger dort zu bleiben. Wenn ich gewusst hätte, dass dieser Ort so schön ist, hätte ich nicht nur keinen eintägigen Ausflug gemacht, weil das natürlich nicht heißt, dass man den ganzen Tag dort bleiben kann ….
Starting from Malapascua Island, it was a 2 hours ride with the boat. We stayed there for about two to three hours, lunch included. To me, it was way too short. First off, you want to explore the island, which you can easily do by walking. Then you want to take a swim, hang out on the beach and just relax and enjoy this beautiful paradise. Plus you may want to take the chance to do some epic photos!
Von Malapascua Island gestartet, war es eine 2-stündige Fahrt mit dem Boot. Wir blieben dort für zwei bis drei Stunden, Mittagessen inklusive. Für mich war es viel zu kurz. Zuallererst möchte man die Insel erkunden, was man leicht zu Fuß machen kann. Dann möchte man schwimmen gehen, am Strand liegen und einfach nur entspannen und dieses wunderschöne Paradies genießen. Außerdem möchte man vielleicht die Chance nutzen, epische Fotos zu machen!
Since I did not sleep there I can’t tell you how it was, but you can stay there in cottages and tents, which you can book by Eco-Tourism Offices in Palompon, Leyte for example. Since the place is declared as marine sanctuary since 2009, an environmental fee is collected for every visitor going there, except for residents of Palompon. The entrance fee for international tourists is 500 Pesos, which is around 8 Euros plus you have to pay the boat extra, but since you can share a big one it’s not that expensive either.
Da ich dort nicht geschlafen habe, kann ich euch nicht sagen, wie es war, aber ihr könnt dort in Cottages und Zelten übernachten, die ihr zum Beispiel bei Eco-Tourismus -Büros in Palompon, Leyte buchen könnt. Seitdem der Ort 2009 zum Meeresschutzgebiet erklärt wurde, wird für jeden Besucher eine Umweltgebühr erhoben, außer für Einwohner von Palompon. Die Eintrittsgebühr für internationale Touristen beträgt 500 Pesos, was ungefähr 8 Euro sind und zusätzlich müsst ihr noch das Boot bezahlen, aber da ihr euch ein großes teilen könnt, ist es auch nicht so teuer.
Even from far away you start noticing the two white sandbars on both ends oft the island; the incredible creamy white sand and clear turquoise water.
Schon von weitem bemerkt man die beiden weißen Sandbänke an beiden Enden der Insel; den unglaublichen cremigen weißen Sand und das klare, türkisfarbene Wasser.
There are no resorts, restaurants or shops on the island. Camping is allowed on the island, but for a maximum of 500 visitors daily to preserve the beauty of the island. There is just one store where you can buy bottled mineral water and other beverages, but no food. So make sure to bring enough food and water before you go to the island (and don’t forget the boattrip back… I was starving 😀 )
Es gibt keine Resorts, Restaurants oder Geschäfte auf der Insel. Camping ist auf der Insel erlaubt, aber für maximal 500 Besucher täglich, um die Schönheit der Insel zu bewahren. Es gibt nur einen Laden, wo man Mineralwasser und andere Getränke kaufen kann, aber kein Essen. Vergesst also nicht, euch genügend Essen und Wasser mit auf die Insel zu nehmen (und vergesst auch nicht, dass ihr mit dem Boot noch zurück müsst…. ich bin fast verhungert 😀 ).
You can find small wooden cottages on the Island, which you can rent. But this does not include matresses, pillows, slepping bags, etc. So instead of paying 500 Pesos per night, it’s probably a better deal to bring your own tent to just camp where you like. On the beach maybe 🙂
Auf der Insel findet man kleine Holzhütten, welche man mieten kann. Aber das beinhaltet keine Matratzen, Kissen, Schlafsäcke, etc. Also anstatt dafür 500 Pesos für die Nacht zu bezahlen, ist es wahrscheinlich besser, ein eigenes Zelt mitzubringen und einfach zu zelten, wo man möchte. Am Strand zum Beispiel 🙂
