I spent four days in Mumbai and one of my highlights was visting Dhobi Ghat. For the ones who haven’t heard of it yet, it’s the world’s biggest outdoor laundry. Every day more than 8.000 people wash and dry the clothes for hotels, restaurants, hospitals and private households.
Ich habe vier Tage in Mumbai verbracht und eines meiner Highlights war definitiv Dhobi Ghat. Für diejenigen, die davon noch nicht gehört haben, es ist die weltweit größte Wäscherei im Freien. Jeden Tag waschen und trocknen hier mehr als 8.000 Menschen die Kleidung für Hotels, Restaurants, Krankenhäuser und private Haushälte.

The people wash the clothes, blankets, pillows, etc. in 826 basins, more than 100,000 clothes each and every day. I have so many respect for these hard working people!

Dhobi Ghat is located in the western area of Mumbai, near Mahalaxmi Railway Station. From there you can also have a good view of Dhobi Ghat.
